Google is a money machine
>>

Well, duh -- the originating essay is about software engineers and what keeps them going -- as markets and deadlines heat up, those whose only resource is $$ will be behind the curve.

How ridiculous! Gratitude as driving force! You guys make me want to puke with your sanctimonious feel good delusions.

Google is a money machine that is gobbling up many Web 2.0 apps and companies to challenge Microsoft. They paint themselves as altruists. How silly! If Microsoft bought YouTube, there would be Anti-Trust lawyers on their door the next morning.

Steve Yegge is among the Web 2.0 Utopians that peddle this tripe to the starry-eyed new agers. It's funny and pathetic.

I really like the idea - thanks for sharing it. After reading the book "How Full Is Your Bucket? Positive Strategies for Work and Life" (Tom Rath, Donald O. Clifton) I both have more gratitude (I look for opportunites), and I act on those feelings by giving out cards, saying it, etc.

Cheers!
